About 4.5.6 Skin

4.5.6 Skin Review

All skin is unique, so your skincare must be too. 4.5.6 Skin is a line of customizable skincare dedicated to enhancing melanin skin.

4.5.6 Skin is a relatively small company that has over 8.8k Instagram followers. However, they have already made quite a name for themselves in the media, being featured in Vogue, Glamour, Women’s Health, and more.

In my 4.5.6. Skin review, I will take a closer look at the brand, its products, customer experiences, and more, to help you decide if their skincare line is right for you.

Why You Should Trust Us

Our mission is to help you make better, more informed purchase decisions. Our team spends hours researching, consulting with medical experts, gathering insight from expert professionals, reviewing customer feedback, and analyzing products to provide you with the information you need.

Overview of 4.5.6 Skin

4.5.6 Skin Review

After struggling to find a skincare routine that met her needs, Noelly Michoux created 4.5.6 Skin. Noticing an underserved market, Michoux set out to create a brand with products rich in natural ingredients like alpha arbutin, vitamin C, and shea butter.

These are all ingredients with great benefits for dark skin. Their products are made to order and made individually to meet your needs. A two-minute skin test on their website allows you to personalize the ingredients for your skin type.

Whether your skin is oily or dry, or you’re struggling with acne, you can adjust the product to fit your skin. You can even add or remove fragrances. That’s the advantage of a smaller brand that can focus on a specific set of problems.

So let’s learn a bit more about the brand and its products, starting with the highlights section of my 4.5.6 Skin review.

4.5.6 Skin To Be Clear Exfoliant Mask For Darker Skin Tones

Grab your cucumbers and a bottle of bubbly! This exfoliant mask, featured in Vogue, is packed full of plant extracts that help regenerate cells while removing any dead ones and calming your skin through the process.

Melanated skin needs more exfoliation, especially in colder climates, but this means it can be over-exfoliated leading to hyperpigmentation, dryness, and other irritations.

This mask will not only have your skin feeling refreshed thanks to the green tea glycoproteins, spirulina, modified pumpkin enzyme, niacinamide, and calendula flower extract, but it actually helps long-term with cell regeneration. A win-win.

4.5.6 Skin Review
4.5.6 Skin Day Hack Matte Moisturiser For Darker Skin Tones

When your skin is dehydrated, it produces oil to make up for that, which results in a layer of oil over flaky skin that clogs pores and creates acne. The Day Hack Matte Moisturiser brightens, rebalances, calms, and protects your skin from urban pollution.

While protecting and strengthening your skin, the matte properties of this moisturiser also make it a perfect primer, giving you a blank canvas for your makeup. You can get a 50ml bottle for $75

4.5.6 Skin Reviews: What Do Customers Think?

4.5.6 Skin Review

4.5.6 Skin has made waves in the beauty industry. Big-time beauty publications have been raving about their products despite their small size. But let’s take a look at the official website first:

  • Come Clean Cleansing Oil: 5/5 stars, 25 reviews
  • Green Bae Cleanser: 5/5 stars, 40 reviews
  • To Be Clear Exfoliant Mask: 5/5 stars, 25 reviews
  • Sevenly Delight Serum: 4.5/5 stars, 85 reviews
  • Day Hack Cream: 5/5 stars, 26 reviews

Out of 357 reviews on the brand’s website, 4.5.6 has an overall average rating of 4.5/5 stars. One buyer wrote: “I keep coming back to these products and my skin has never looked better. Just a beautiful natural glow. I rave about it to everyone who will listen.”

Another praised the Sevenly Delight serum: “This serum is like nectar from the gods. You can instantly feel it working to hydrate and nourish your skin. I am a customer for life!”

Now, what about those media outlet reviews? Glamour’s Michella Oré and Ru Wolle both sampled some of 4.5.6’s products and gave their honest reviews. They based their reviews on moisture, scent, and skin feel.

Oré loved the Green Bae cleansing oil, saying it “goes on silky smooth and subtly lathers as it lifts away the grime”. After trying the Tonic Oh! lotion, she found the product “looks and smells like a sweet punch and left [her] skin looking more radiant after a few uses.”

The Day Hack moisturizer was a bit too matte for her skin but would be great for someone more prone to oiliness.

For Wolle, the Sevenly Delight serum and the Tonic Oh! lotion weren’t a perfect match for her skin because they peeled off as if there was some sort of build-up, but she admits she’s someone who constantly touches her face which could play a factor.

She loved the Green Bae cleanser though, saying “…in contrast to my other soaps… it doesn’t dehydrate the skin. It adds a bit of moisture while leaving a squeaky clean feeling.”

Refinery29 individually reviewed many of its products, all passing the beauty guru test. Their final consensus for the brand overall was this: Lately, many world-class brands have promised to deliver formulas that work with, not against, darker skin tones but if there’s one brand that should be on your radar, it’s 4.5.6 Skin.”

With real results and real hype, 4.5.6 has definitely caught the eye of women around the world.
